Mixed Berry Iced Tea
Grownups and kids alike will adore this zippy iced tea,
with its summery mix of black and hibiscus herbal tea
that’s punched up with lemon juice, sugar and lots of
fresh berries.
Ingredients
- 4 black tea bags
- 4 berry-hibiscus herbal tea bags (we like Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger)
- 8 cup(s) water
- 1/4 cup(s) superfine sugar
- 2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- 1/2 cup(s) each raspberries and blueberries
- 1/2 cup(s) strawberries, quartered
- Thin lemon slices
Directions
- Place tea bags in a heatproof pitcher. In a 4-qt saucepan, heat water to a boil. Pour it into the pitcher and steep tea bags for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags; let cool and refrigerate, covered, until cold, about 1 hour.
- Stir in sugar and lemon juice. Add ice, berries and lemon slices to pitcher.
Berry Lemonade Iced Tea
Ingredients
- 1 can(s) (12 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate
- 8 wild berry tea bags (we liked Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger)
Directions
- Reconstitute lemonade with water in a large pitcher as can directs. Add tea bags; refrigerate overnight.
- Remove and discard tea bags. Refrigerate until serving.
- To serve: Pour tea over ice in tall glasses; garnish with lemon.
Basic Iced Tea Concentrate
Ingredients
- 8 bag(s) black, red, or green tea
Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add the tea bags and let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
Tips & Techniques
Note: To make iced tea, stir 4 cups cold water into the concentrate. Serve over ice. Sweeten and garnish as desired.
Creamy Sweet Tea
Ingredients
8 bag(s) black tea
- 1/3 cup(s) (or up to 1/2 cup) condensed milk
Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Stir the condensed milk into the iced tea concentrate (the more milk you use, the sweeter the tea will be). Serve over ice.
Honey, Ginger and Nectarine Iced Tea
Ingredients
8 bag(s) hibiscus tea (such as Red ZInger) or black tea
- 1 piece(s) (1-inch) fresh ginger, thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup)
- 2 tablespoon(s) honey
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 nectarines, each cut into 8 wedges
Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags, ginger, honey, and half the lemon slices. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Discard the ginger and lemon from the iced tea concentrate. Stir in the nectarines, 4 cups cold water, and remaining lemon. Serve over ice.
Double Apple Iced Tea
Ingredients
- 8 bag(s) black, green, or hibiscus tea (such as Red Zinger)
- 4 cup(s) apple juice
- 2 crisp apples (such as Granny Smith and Braeburn)
Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Once the iced tea concentrate is cool, core and thinly slice the apples. Stir the apples and apple juice into the iced tea concentrate. Serve over ice.
Strawberry Iced Tea Slushie
ingredients
- 8 bag(s) hibiscus tea (such as Red Zinger) or green tea
- 1 pound(s) frozen strawberries
- 2 cup(s) ice cubes

- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- In a blender, purée half the strawberries, 2 cups tea, and 1 cup ice until smooth. Transfer to 3 glasses and repeat with the remaining strawberries, tea, and ice.
Pineapple and Thyme Iced Tea
Ingredients
8 bag(s) green tea
- 2 sprig(s) (large) fresh thyme
- 1/2 fresh pineapple, cored and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags and thyme. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Discard the thyme from the iced tea concentrate and stir in the pineapple and 4 cups cold water. Serve over ice with additional thyme, if desired.
Cucumber, Lemon, and Mint Fizz
ingredients
- 8 bag(s) black or green tea
- 4 sprig(s) fresh mint, plus more for serving
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1/2 seedless cucumber, thinly sliced
- 4 cup(s) ginger ale
directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags, mint, and half the lemon. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Discard the mint and lemon from the iced tea concentrate. Stir in the cucumber and remaining lemon. Add ginger ale. Serve over ice with additional mint, if desired.
Honeydew and Watermelon Iced Tea

- 1 cup(s) 1-inch pieces watermelon
- 1 cup(s) thinly sliced honeydew melon

- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
- Stir the watermelon, honeydew, and 4 cups cold water into the iced tea concentrate. Serve over ice.
